The new investment will be used to scale up production of LionVolt’s 3D solid-state batteries across the company’s operations in the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. The announcement follows the acquisition of AMTE Power’s battery cell production line in Thurso, Scotland, two weeks earlier.
On the day of the announcement, LionVolt commented on LinkedIn:
“A big thank you to our investors for their confidence in us. Looking forward to accelerating LionVolt as a leading next-gen battery company by leveraging the core strengths of our teams in the Netherlands and the UK.”
The cells can already be used in wearables, and LionVolt has stated that it eventually plans to build a gigafactory in Eindhoven to make batteries for EVs.
