LionVolt is a deep-tech startup working on a revolutionary battery using a 3D lithium metal anode architecture that will boost battery performance and bring an important contribution to achieving global net zero goals. A step change in battery performance is in high demand from our application markets, and our architecture boosts energy density and charging rates without compromising safety and duration/life.

Our multinational and highly diverse team consists of 50 people across multiple locations. Our innovation centre is based at the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven, a leading European innovation hub, and we have a cell manufacturing facility in Scotland.  In addition, we are expanding our manufacturing capacity with a new production line at the Brainport Industries Campus (BIC) in Eindhoven, giving us everything we need to realise our innovation.

Summary of function and duties

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Operator Lab to join our Anode Development Team in Eindhoven. In this role, you will play a key part in advancing the performance of our next-generation 3D battery technology by preparing, assembling, and testing both baseline and novel anode chemistries.
You will focus on delivering high-quality, reproducible experimental results that contribute directly to the development of cutting-edge energy storage solutions. Collaboration is at the core of our work; you will work closely with cross-functional teams to support innovation and accelerate progress in anode material research.

Your Role

  • Operate and monitor lab scale production equipment to ensure efficient research and innovation.
  • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and adjustments on tools.
  • Follow lab and tools (like glovebox) safety procedures.
  • Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
  • Conduct quality checks and report deviations to the task managers.
  • Assist in process improvements and offer feedback for optimization.

What We Are Looking For

  • Education: MBO‑4, preferably in a technical field.
  • Experience: Prior experience in a production environment or chemical/materials lab; glovebox experience is a strong plus. Experience with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Skills: Hands‑on technical ability, precision, and the capability to follow procedures.
  • Mindset: Proactive, problem‑solving, and eager to work in an innovative startup setting.
  • Teamwork: Ability to collaborate with process engineers and fellow operators.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to adopt new methods of working.
  • Languages: English at minimum B2 level; Dutch is highly preferred—willingness to learn is a plus.
