LionVolt is a deep-tech startup working on a revolutionary battery using a 3D anode architecture that will boost battery performance, and by doing so bring an important contribution to achieving global net zero goals. A step change in battery performance is in high demand from our application markets, and our architecture boosts energy density and charging rates without compromising safety and duration/life.

Our multinational and highly diverse team consists of 40 people across multiple locations. Our innovation centre is based at the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven, a leading European innovation hub, and we have a cell manufacturing facility in Scotland.  In addition, we are expanding our manufacturing capacity with a new production line at the Brainport Industries Campus (BIC) in Eindhoven, giving us everything we need to realise our innovation. To support this exciting next step, we are looking for a production lead to take charge of our brand new production location.

Role overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Process Engineer for our pouch cell line in Eindhoven. The process engineer will be involved in the daily operations of our line facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing battery cell fabrication and electrochemical testing, ensuring they meet performance and safety standards.
  • Perform experimental design, planning, execution and documentation.
  • Learn and apply new processes and their optimization.
  • Gather experimental data and carry out analysis to assess the performance of different cells parameters. Ensure accuracy in documentation and reporting.
  • Do post-mortem analysis of the cells to better understand degradation mechanisms.
  • Parallelly work on multiple projects as a team.

 

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in engineering, chemistry, materials, physics or battery related field.
  • 0-3 years of work experience in a R&D laboratory environment.
  • Experienced hands-on in a chemical- or materials laboratory.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve technical challenges related to cell development.
  • Very motivated person, capable and willing to learn new technologies.
  • You are a team player who is curious, never gives up and wants to be part of an exciting startup.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present information clearly.

Desired Experience

  • Having experience in electrochemistry or battery-related topics is a plus.
  • Passion for contributing to achieving global net-zero targets.
