LionVolt closes a €4M seed round led by Innovation Industries, with BOM and Sake Bosch participating. The round follows a ~€1.3M pre-seed earlier in 2021.

LionVolt has closed a €4 million seed funding round led by Innovation Industries, with participation from BOM (Brabantse Ontwikkelings Maatschappij) and Sake Bosch. The seed follows an earlier pre-seed round of approximately €1.3 million from TNO, Innovation Industries, Goeie Grutten, Brabant Startup Fonds and BOM, bringing total capital raised in 2021 to roughly €5 million.

The funding will be used to scale LionVolt’s 3D thin-film solid-state battery technology, grow the team in Eindhoven, and progress the work that has been carried out at Holst Centre over the past years.

LionVolt was incorporated in March 2021 as a spin-off of TNO at Holst Centre. The company is developing a proprietary 3D solid-state battery architecture aimed at delivering higher energy density, faster charging, intrinsic safety and a longer product lifespan than conventional lithium-ion cells.
